Tremco’s Flooring Solution Supports Crisis Skylight Croydon Refurbishment
The Project
Crisis Skylight Croydon undertook a refurbishment project to transform its ground floor into a dynamic and multi-purpose space for the local community. The aim was to create dedicated areas for a podcast radio station, arts & crafts workshops, and yoga sessions, providing vital resources for those experiencing homelessness.
To ensure the flooring met the specific demands of these varied activities, Tremco was selected to supply a high-performance flooring solution. Durability, ease of application, and installation efficiency were key considerations, leading to the specification of SX600-NA Smoothing Compound and SF200 Carpet Tile Adhesive as the ideal system for the project.
The Tremco System Solution- Application
Understanding the need for a reliable, fully compatible flooring system, Ajax Flooring Ltd turned to Tremco for both its high-quality products and technical support. Given the challenging site conditions—including residual old adhesive from previous flooring—Ajax Flooring selected the SX600-NA Smoothing Compound and SF200 Carpet Tile Adhesive.
The installation process involved:
Tremco SX600NA High-Performance Smoothing Compound – Chosen for its excellent flow properties and rapid curing time, enabling a smooth, even surface while minimising downtime.
Tremco SF200 Carpet Tile Adhesive – Applied over the smoothing compound to create a secure, durable bond for the carpet tiles, ensuring long-term performance.
The Solution
The use of Tremco’s flooring system provided significant advantages for the refurbishment project, including:
