The majority of manufacturers and suppliers will only undertake core samples at the survey stage, this means:
- Presents a very localised understanding of where water ingress is
- May not have a clear understanding of where the leak is coming from
- Invasive therefore recommended not to do a lot of cores
- A potentially more costly remediation plan suggested
However, carrying out a thermographic scan (Roof Diagnostics) alongside core samples means:
- Only a few cores are taken
- Visually represents where moisture is and the severity
- Can visually expose where the leak/issues start
- More cost-effective roof remediation plan based on factual data (not assumed by just cores)
